I have decided to take on the second prompt. I have decided to do my upcoming podcast on the topic of importance of zoos and aquariums. For this project I will probably interview one of my professors within Aquaculture and Aquarium science, an aquarist at the Seacoast Science Center in Rye, NH, I will contact someone within the marine mammal rescue at the seacoast science center as well. I will try to contact someone from a larger zoo or aquarium and see if they would be interested in being interviewed for this. Lastly, probably either a student at UNE or a guest at the seacoast science center would be the last person I would be interested in interviewing. I honestly belive getting a lot of diffrent prespectives will help, with my exposer to the industry of aquariums I can find a large amount of people on social media always very against the idea of animals in captivity. With that I would like to see how much a regular person doesn’t know what really happens behind the scenes. I know I will have to research things like environmental impacts, along with trying to discover how many animals are currently being taken from the wild, I also intend on getting information about the association of zoos and aquariums, which is an association which holds institutions to the highest of standards for animal health and welfare.
