- When listening to something, people can interpret the message how they perceive it in their minds. but with being able to see a visual like when watching a video and listening to it, you are exposed to what the creator has perceived it as and are under their influence.
- Depending on the setting it can be very different things, I have to choose to listen to a podcast and I am exposing myself to something that is of interest to me. If I am watching TV somewhere I may not have control over what I watch. I currently listen to podcasts and in one specific one this person is talking about her struggle with mental health and how she is on the road to a better life, I choose to listen to that and I interpret scenarios within my own mind because I was not there during her own experiences. If I am to watch a tv show I am subject to how the show wants me to interpret a specific moment because I am watching the character in the moment. The message to me is all subjective, if I am watching something I am basically told how to interpret it, when listening to a podcast I was not there at the moment from what the person is talking about, I have to imagine what they are trying to get at in the moment, which because I am imagining it means that I could be wrong of how a situation played out. However, the message could also be very straight forward, like if a company is trying to move information throughout the organization. They could easily limit the people who can get certain information, if they just send out a memo someone could accidentally print it and then just throw it away with the chance of someone else finding it. With the advancements in technology some employees will not always have access to everything because that will not pertain to them or they are not of high enough rank, with having safeguards in place it can still distribute information to the appropriate people.
